Volunteer Vacancies

Volunteers form the backbone of many of our communities and such experiences can be hugely rewarding. Maybe it is something you are interested in. Being a volunteer does require enthusiasm and perseverance. Many volunteers come from abroad.

4 Camphill Community Kyle is recruiting Volunteers From 01 Sep 2021

Camphill Community Kyle is a small sized community in the South east of Ireland , County Kilkenny.  Kyle is land-based and a residential facility for 16 adults with various support needs. We are looking for enthusiastic people who have an interest in community life and in supporting individuals throughout their daily life. Kyle has a team of health care proffessionals who together with volunteers create a healthy and friendly environment. Kyle has a small farm and  garden as well as craft workshops and training programmes on-site. Some activity like hydrotherapy, swimming, outdoor pursuit or educational programmes like woodwork and art education programmes are off site. Volunteers do not live in the residential centres ,but on-site. 

We provide induction and training to all successful applicants for the volunteer positions. 

We would like that our volunteers will stay for a period of 12 months in the Community

There's no qualification required for a volunteer position, however good written and spoken English skills are required. Applicants should be enthusiatic, sociable, enjoy spending time with others and be able to work as part of a team.

2 Lifesharing Live-In Male & Female - Short Term Volunteer Care Assistants From 01 Sep 2021

Camphill Community Grangemockler is looking for a number of enthusiastic individuals to come and volunteer in our Community. Please contact volunteer.grangemockler@camphill.ie for more information and an application form.


Persons, with a keen interest, or already engaged in, or completing a Social Care / Social Pedagogy course/degree or similar field is a distinct advantage. Previous personal or professional experience engaging with individuals with an Intellectual Disability will also be considered an advantage. Proficiency in spoken and written English is required, and you will be assessed as part of the application process.

2 Coworker From 01 Sep 2021

We are looking for motivated, energetic and responsible volunteers interested in joining our life sharing community spread over a small seaside village. You will join one of our three small house communities, to live and work alongside adults with special needs and other volunteers from many different countries. The role involves living in a household in the community together with adults with special needs, supporting them in their day to day needs and work life.

Each household is guided by house-coordinators and offers a home to up to three residents with disabilities. Camphill Ballymoney operates a small garden, a basket-workshop, a felt workshop and a small coffee-shop. 

This role would best suit empathetic, caring and responsible people with a strong sense of commitment. Good English is essential and preference is given to those who can commit for the full year. 3 Short term volunteers From 01 Sep 2021

You will join a vibrant young team of about 8 young adults between the ages of 18-24 from many different countries. The role involves living in a household in the community together with adults with special needs, supporting them in their day to day needs and work life. This role would best suit empathetic, caring and responsible people with a strong sense of commitment. Good English is essential and preference is given to those who can commit for the full year. A keen interest in adults with special needs is required. An interest in social care, art, music, farming/gardening, homemaking or a specific craft is an advantage. English language is a key requirement. Full training and induction into the role will be provided as well as mandatory external training. Reflective supervision is provided on a one to one basis at regular intervals.

2 Short Term Coworkers (Residential Voluntary Social Care Assisstant) From 01 Sep 2021

We are looking for an enthusiastic and mature male and female co-worker who can stay with us for at least one year. 

You will be supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities as well as supporting others in the organisation. 

Good English is essential and good sense of humor and communication skills will be important. It is also important to have willingness to work and cooperate closely with people who have chosen to live and work in Camphill and willingness to learn and accept something different from what you have known. 

This work and life are challenging but rewarding. If you want to develop yourself and experience something totally different from what you have experienced, this is the place for you.
