Volunteers form the backbone of many of our communities and such experiences can be hugely rewarding. Maybe it is something you are interested in. Being a volunteer does require enthusiasm and perseverance. Many volunteers come from abroad and Have a look at Residential Volunteering Opportunities in one of our community households.

Persons, with a keen interest, or already engaged in, or completing a Social Care / Social Pedagogy course/degree or similar field is a distinct advantage. Previous personal or professional experience engaging with individuals with an Intellectual Disability will also be considered an advantage. Proficiency in spoken and written English is required, and you will be assessed as part of the application process.

2 Lifesharing Live-In Co-worker From 01 Apr 2020

We are looking for motivated, energetic and responsible volunteers interested in joining our life sharing community to live and work alongside adults with special needs. You will join a vibrant young team of about 20-25 young adults from many different countries. The role involves living in a household in the community together with adults with special needs, supporting them in their day to day needs and work life. This role would best suit empathetic, caring and responsible people with a strong sense of commitment. Good English is essential and preference is given to those who can commit for the full year. An interest in social care, art, music, farming/gardening, homemaking or a specific craft is an advantage. English language is a key requirement. Qualifications: Good level of English (essential). Good communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Previous experience in Camphill (very good but not essential). We'll provide training for this task. We need caring, enthusiastic and organized people who are able to help take care of the house, residents and also join our workshops.

1 Lifesharing Live-In long term residential volunteers From 01 Apr 2020

Camphill Community Mountshannon is looking for House Coordinators. We welcome applications from single, couples or families, prepared to join our young community as enthusiastic and responsible long term coworkers, with an interest in Camphill life and Ethos, preferably with experience in community living, social care although this is not essential.

 

We need people who can help us carry the responsability and consciousness of our community and to participate in all aspects of our daily life, together with a team of long term coworkers and employees.

Applicants need to be open and willing to carry administrative tasks and to work in accordance with the National Standards for Social Care.

Our houses are in separate locations on the edges of a small village and integration in every day life of the village is very important to us.

Volunteers will join a house community supporting adults with a variey of needs. Some of those we support have high needs, including physical / intimate care and constant supervision. Others live in their own accommondation and need friends visiting regularly to support them as they manage their own lives. Our life is challenging for all, and very rewarding for those who engage and participate fully. Good English is essential, and it helps if you bring energy, initiative and humour! In your application, please answer these two additional questions: 1: when are you free to start? 2: how long do you wish to stay?


Basic induction and training will be provided.
