KCAT's Mission

Aims and Objectives

Give access to people with mental disabilities to the mainstream arts world; provide the means and encouragement to creatively express their experience. Develop a context in which artists, with and without disabilities, can work together as creative equals. Share experience among individuals and projects in Europe, gain cross-cultural experience and provoke, stimulate and enrich activity in this field. Develop an increasing audience for “inclusive arts” and inspire increased activity, for the benefit of the world of the arts and also for the numbers of people with mental disabilities who have poor access to artistic expression, as participants and audience.

Mission Statement

Rather than integrating one group into the other, KCAT aims to create a new situation: an environment in which artists and students from different backgrounds and abilities can work and create together and in which life long learning is an opportunity for everyone.
