Here you can find out more about everybody who lives in our Community. Let us introduce the folks from Farmhill house:

My name is Mary Kenny.I am 32 years old. I was born in the Coombe Hospital on the7th April 1978. I have one sister called Eva who is studying in Princeton University in New York. I used to live in an apartment before I moved to the house where we live now. I like going for walks, shopping and watching movies. I work two days a week on a local farm called Airfield with my good friend Siobhan H, two days in a very nice ice cream bar called Murphys. On Thursdays I work In Eason's Bookshop in town. I also do cooking and cleaning in Greenacres. I also do bowling and drama. At the moment I am living in a residential community called Camphill Greenacres. In that house there is a lovely young man from Germany called Markus. I live in Greenacres with Andrew and Brenda, my housemother and her family. My wish for the future is maybe to do another course . I used to live in another Camphill in Dunshane Co. Kildare, I made a lot of friends there. I also learned pottery skills, basketry, and baking. My parents are Ruth and Adrian Kenny. Living in Dublin has taught me independence and social skills.

I am Andrew Ryan and I was born in Dublin on the 21th July 1953. My parents are Diana and Clement Ryan. I have one brother whose name is Philip Ryan. I grew up near the city centre of Dublin.I have many hobbies which I really enjoy. For instance, listening to music especially the Beatles, Abba , James Bond and chart music. I also love to play the piano. I do not need sheet music, because i am able to play songs out of my memory. I am a member of a bowling team with my other friends from Farmhill. I won a gold medal in a competition. I like to go for walks in the countryside. I enjoy eating my favourite vanilla ice cream. In general eating is one of my passions, particularly chicken. Doing the jigsaw, playing solitaire and painting pictures are also hobbies which I like doing. By the way I almost forget to mention my passion for writing poems and rhymes.I have been living in Greenacres for several years now. First of all I moved to a community where I lived with Noel and Katri and their children . Now I am living with Mary Kenny and Brenda and her children in Farmhill house . For me living in Camphill is very entertaining. I have my daily routine which is very helpful for me. I do different work every day. My duties range from gardening, baking and cleaning in the morning to music lessons, drama or going swimming in the afternoon. I enjoy going on holidays to foreign countries. Some time ago I took part in a pilgrimage to Lourdes . I also travelled to Croatia and to Ballytrent. I am able to remember bathing and splashing in the waves of the sea on the beach of Ballytrent. After that I went inside a little lighthouse where I saw a passing ship. I also remember playing cricket, which is my favourite sport, on the front pitch of Ballytrent. Finally , I remember going swimming in Blackrock baths and Seapoint and Killiney beach. Now I am looking forward to going on a holiday to Scotland with Brenda.

Hi, my name is Christine. I'm from Germany and have been working as a co-worker in Greenacres since May 2011. I live in the Farmhill house together with Mary, Andrew and Kyung-Ah and I am currently in charge of the weavery workshop.
I studied and graduated in German Linguistics and Philosophy. Even though this has nothing to do with what I am doing now in Greenacres, I was always interested and active in crafts, art and social issues. For example, I love painting and exhibited my works at different places in the past, worked with deaf people before for a while and still have the wish to study art therapy and psychology in the future.

Hello, I'm Kyung-ah In from South Korea and 22 years old. I enjoy living together with nice villagers and co-workers!! Before I came here, I finished my university 8th semester for international business in this February and then I had been in Toronto (Canada) for 3 months to study English. The reason why I came here is I was interested in overseas volunteer for people. I searched about that and I found greenacres, I was really happy that this type of community exists. 'Camphill is not working, but a way of life' When I read this sentence on the website, I hoped I could join and live on this community. As a result, I'm here and learning lots of skills for workshop. I'm working in various workshops including cooking, drama, pottery, music. Particulary my main workshop is cooking and sometimes I make Korean food and I love to see that everyone likes my food :)That's what I'm doing here and I'm enjoying life in Camphill Greenacres!I always try facing and working on something new. When I did that, I failed many times but I never got frustrated. People who are around me said about me, "you're easy going and cheerful person," or "you might survive(live) well wherever you go." I'm so optimistic that solved the problems well by a smile when I was tired and had tough time. Also I always lead up the mood with positive and bright mind. And I do my best accommodating easily to new situations. Then I fit in well with any crowd. I am also good at adapting myself to circumstances. When I leave on a trip overseas, I try to experience a culture, foods unfamiliar to me. So I could easily make friends with other foreign friends who have different native language and cultures by smiling together. I have been here for quite a short time, but I can say working and living together in Camphill is a definitely fascinating work comparing to other volunteering programs which are just help them simply. Now, I'm doing my best to be a nice member of this community family and true volunteer who have this spirit 'Don't give them fish, but teach them how to catch fish'.
