My name is Katri. I have lived in Greenacres since 2003, almost from the beginning.
I'm married to Noel and I'm a mother of three lovely children, Oona, Erasmus and Francis. Our family lives with Rebecca in Dale house. In the community I'm the 'jack-of-all-trades': I do a bit of administration, I cook and bake, clean and wash, work in the garden and sometimes in the weavery, drive the minibus and talk a lot. However, what I like best about community living is to share my life with all the interesting people from all over the world. I'm a student of social science. Living in a community is a social experiment - interesting, challenging and idealistic - it is easy to be inspired to live the Camphill life!

My name is Noel Bruder. I have been in Greenacres almost from the start, which makes it 7 years now. I am 45 years old and I live in Dale house together with Katri, my wife, our 3 kids - Oona, Erasmus and Francis - and Rebecca Whelan.

I started out in Camphill 13 years ago. Having sampled a couple of communities in Ireland by helping in the farms as a WOOFER (Willing Workers on Organic Farms), I decided to head to the exotic North of Europe for a year to see if Camphill was something for me in the longer term. So, I arrived in Finland with not a word of the language or really of what I was getting into. The big adventure lasted 2 years by which time I had a girlfriend, a young family and had made a decision that I would like to make a life for myself in Camphill. However, since I never really got to grips with the Finnish language (it is very difficult!), our small family decided to move to Ireland to a community in Carrick-on-Suir, Co Tipperary. Here I became a farmer, gardener, I opened up a craft workshop, helped build-up the Community and generally kept busy.

Our next move was to Greenacres. Originally, we thought this might be more a kind of B&B and activity center than a regular community, but the Star of Greenacres had its own direction and the Community has now grown to 3 households and a number of day activities. We are now going through challenging times but I hope that Camphill in Ireland and Greenacres in particular will emerge stronger and more progressive. For me that will mean continuing carrying the ideals we have always had but learning to share responsibilities more being in more open relationships with other people and organisations.

Hello, I'm Oona!
Both my parents work for Camphill. I have lived in a few different camphills since I was around five.
I enjoy living in Camphill for various reasons. It is a good place to learn your social skills when you are still a child and also be around different people every day.
Being a teenager, it was hard at times to find your own space and privacy but in balance I enjoy the having the people around me.

My name is Rebecca Whelan, I am 35 years old and I was born in Dublin. I am the oldest of 3 sisters, my parents now live in England.
In 1992 I joined Camphill , first in Dunshane, a lovely farm community, where I worked in different workshops like Pottery and on the farm, which I liked the most.
In 2000 I moved to Duffcarrig, another farm-community, and there I also worked in few workshops, but then I started to do some courses outside to develop my skills, so I did computer lessons, woodwork and arts. After doing these courses I started to work in Festina Lente, where I am at moment.

I really appreciate working there, because I love working outside and with animals, so I have a chance to enjoy the fresh air. I work with horses and my task is to muck out the stables and to groom, feed and ride them. I hope I can stay working in the same place where I can be in touch with animals.
