Short Term Volunteer Vacancies

1 short-term volunteer/shop-keeper From 01 Jun 2018

We are offering one Short-term placement for a motivated young person who wishes to take a central role in our small craft and coffee shop whilst experiencing our life-sharing community spread over a small seaside village.

This vacancy is for the summer months in particular with the option of extending your stay if wanted.

You should have an outgoing friendly personality with an interest in others and a preference for a lifestyle favouring organic produce. Good spoken English is essential.  Preference is given to those who are 21 years or over.

Your task will be to become a central part of the coffee-shop team, and you will be serving customers from 10am to lunchtime five days a week. Barrista training will be given as well as training to order supplies and look after all aspects of the running of the shop.

You will join one of our three house communities, where you share responsibilities with the other volunteers. Like all the other households in the community your home will be guided by a house-coordinator. She will train you to support a resident on her path towards independent supported living. Camphill Ballymoney operates a small garden, a basket-workshop, a felt workshop and a small coffee-shop and volunteers from all over the world join us to support the residents with disabilities in our community.
