The Craft and Coffee shop is our next big project and these days we are working hard at finalising our plans with the architect. Soon enough we hope to be able to display the fruits of our labour on this site. Our coffee shop will have part of it dedicated to a craft display and as our current basket-workshop has outgrown its space in the past two years we will include a new more suitable workshop-space. The coffee shop is aiming to be a meeting-place for our local neighbours, a social-space for different groups to come together (book club, mothers and toddlers group, etc.) and it will hopefully be a lively centre for the village during summer days, when we have many tourists visiting the area. As an integrated working-space, the coffee shop will offer work and much needed employment for people with all abilities. Being only a small residential community in Camphill Ballymoney, we are intending to offer sheltered workspace to service-providers around us as well as placements for the HSE. Serving customers as a team whilst keeping high standards in quality of food, service and hygiene will be essential to everyone working in the coffee shop. For many years the idea of building a Camphill coffee shop in Ballymoney has been living in us and we are exited to see it become more substantial. For it to finally happen we need to urgently raise finances. We have started to focus big time on fundraising with our Easter Monday cake-sale and five of our lovely ladies joining the Dublin Mini-marathon. We are asking each and everyone of you to support us in our efforts and remember- EVERY EURO HELPS!
