Camphill has always been dependent on its local friends and neighbours.
It has been great to see many people with special needs making friends with neighbours and locals, and it seems that integration has never been a big issue but rather a given in our communities.
Many people have helped us in our endeavours.
| - People have joined for festivals, helped in our houses (whether with cooking, cleaning or needlework)
- Some communities have had transition year students or teenagers on holiday helping for a week or two with our gardens or workshops.
- Volunteers have come forward to help in our coffee shops, some once a week for 2-3 hours, some fulltime
- Some of our villagers love being invited by their local friends for Sunday dinner or to go to the cinema or theatre.
- Some local people have joined our local management groups, which is a very valuable contribution to the life of the communities.
