Grangebeg - Workshops

In Grangebeg the community takes great pride in the products and services we create in our therapeutic workshops.

As mentioned on the previous page our land produces some healthy organic vegetables and meat that is enjoyed by the community, and the wider area the year round. A good deal of our resources are devoted to upkeep of the garden and farmland, for many people feel that outdoor work and connecting to the land and animals is rewarding and therapeutic.

There is also work to be done inside. In our hall we have two workshop spaces; our wonderful bakery and a craft and candlemaking workshop. Our bakery at the moment is producing a wide range of breads and bake goods that is enjoyed daily in the community. In the future we will look to expand our production and possibly sell our goods in local markets.

Our craft and candle making workshop works with felting, spinning, weaving and painting. To be used as gifts or decorations for houses and for festivals. We have our signature "Wildflower, 100% beeswax candle holders" which we began producing a couple years ago and have received a lot of positive feedback from buyers at various local markets. We hope to continue producing these in this newly upgraded workshop for future sales. This workshop provides a quiet therapeutic space to work creatively with your hands all the while learning new skills.

As our community is still growing and expanding we are always looking for new workshops, we have space for a woodworking workshop and/or general maintance workshop. Most of the people in our care are quite independant and capable and are looking to be challenged by new workshop experiences.
